about us

OTUS: Years of Helping Businesses Thrive with Reliable Printing

We are a small service company organized in 2006 attempting to break into the mainstream copying and printing industry that are dominated by business giants established a quarter century ago or longer.

Our lineage of copier and printer knowledge dates back in the late '80s, spanning more than 30 years of accumulated knowledge in the copying and printing industry. At the helm of OCSI are people technically knowledgeable in almost all major brands of copiers, printers and multi-function devices. Having worked with the Sharp brand of copiers as technical and sales coordinators and managers in the 90's; and expanded to other brands in the OO's; we chose to focus on one brand upon inception in 2006, and gather expertise on the FUJI XEROX - now running in its 18th year as exclusive brand partner in the Philippines.

Our History

In 2002, the seeds were sown by organizing the Fox Documents Solutions, Inc. (FDSI) whose members are retrenched union of workers busted by the defunct Datacom I Mitsu Machines Phils., Inc. As a newly formed company, the FDSI empowered the workers by adopting a cooperative-cum-corporation organizational concept who worked on primarily Sharp copying machines, and expanded to other brands like Toshiba, Konica, Canon and Kyocera in the following years.

In 2005, organizational in-fighting led to a dissenting faction breaking away from FDSI and formed for themselves the Data Images Plus Automation Phil's. Inc. (DIPAPI) on one hand; while the allied A4 Copy Systems, Inc. (A4CSI) and FDSI-QC had opted in selling their stocks to FDSI on the other hand. The eleven remaining members continued the FDSI business in the brink of bankruptcy, with zero customer base. and ninety percent of employees gone.

In 2006, the president of FDSI concurrently organized the Otus Copy Systems, Inc. (OCSI) to steer the remaining employees into adopting a new strategy, while going to a process of winding-up the former business. It was during that same time when OCSI had been approved to become an Authorized Channel Partner of Fuji Xerox Phils., Inc. (FXPI).

In 2008, OCSI was re-structured by buying-out stocks of the "remnants of the old", those directors who refused to cooperate on the novel concept of taking in One (1) brand "FUJI XEROX" - One (1) sector "Government" - One (1) approach "Managed Services" (a.k.a. 1-1-1 Strategy) of dealership, as opposed to the traditional multiple-brand, box-pushing and off-the-shelf-selling-centric approach common to many dealers at that time. It was during the same period when OCSI - FDSI was reduced to 7 members.

In 2009+ - 7 , OCSI made its breakthrough large-scale contract with the DSWD, DOTC and NEA, providing Managed Services on lease-rental basis, and on procured platforms. The GSIS, CSC and LTO came next, while the DBM, Ofc. Of the President, and the PICC were contracted the following year. By 2012, the winding-up was approved and the FDSI as a company, had ceased to exist. By then, the list of Otus accounts grew steadily on double-digit rates. The rest of the years that followed had been a story of mixed bitter-sweet struggle of a once fledgling company called Otus.
